What You’ll Do

• Provide efficient and cost-effective Ophthalmology services to patients.
• Oversee the administration of the Ophthalmology Division, ensuring resource rationalization.
• Conduct patient audits and implement clinical governance practices.
• Facilitate training for clinical staff and students in the district hospitals.
• Organize and participate in outreach and support services for eye care.
• Contribute to clinical and demographic studies to enhance service delivery.
• Foster positive relationships with patients, staff, and referral services.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification for registration as a Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology with the HPCSA.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology.
• For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
• For Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
• For Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
• A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Proficiency in managing Ophthalmology-related illnesses and surgeries.
• Strong communication, conflict management, and leadership skills.
• Experience in research and teaching is advantageous.
