What You’ll Do
- Provide efficient and cost-effective Ophthalmology services to patients.
- Oversee the administration of the Ophthalmology Division, ensuring resource rationalization.
- Conduct patient audits and implement clinical governance practices.
- Facilitate training for clinical staff and students in the district hospitals.
- Organize and participate in outreach and support services for eye care.
- Contribute to clinical and demographic studies to enhance service delivery.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, staff, and referral services.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification for registration as a Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology with the HPCSA.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology.
- For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
- For Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
- A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in managing Ophthalmology-related illnesses and surgeries.
- Strong communication, conflict management, and leadership skills.
- Experience in research and teaching is advantageous.
