What You’ll Do

• Wheel patients to and from the wards, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Transport patients to various service areas, including the operating theatre.
• Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary with respect and care.
• Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to wards and other departments.
• Collect and deliver specimens as needed to support hospital operations.
• Offload patients from ambulances and private cars to stretchers.
• Clean stretchers and wheelchairs after use to maintain hygiene standards.
• Report any faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor immediately.
• Assist with mortuary services, including receiving and releasing corpses.
• Maintain accurate records for all corpses handled and ensure proper identification.
• Clean and safeguard all equipment used in the department.

What You’ll Need

• NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts and under pressure.
• Sound knowledge of customer care principles.
