What You’ll Do

  • Assist in transporting patients to and from wards, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Move patients to various service areas, such as the operating theatre, with care and efficiency.
  • Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary with dignity and respect.
  • Deliver medical equipment, stores, and documentation to the appropriate wards and departments.
  • Collect and deliver specimens as required by hospital protocols.
  • Offload patients from ambulances and private vehicles onto stretchers.
  • Maintain cleanliness by regularly cleaning stretchers and wheelchairs after use.
  • Report any faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor promptly.
  • Render mortuary services, including the recording of corpses received and released.
  • Ensure proper identification and maintenance of accurate records in your field of work.
  • Keep all equipment clean and well-maintained at all times.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
  • No prior experience is required for this position.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts and handle pressure.
  • A solid understanding of customer care principles.
