What You’ll Do
- Wheel patients to and from wards and various service areas.
- Transport patients to vehicles or other transportation modes.
- Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary with respect and care.
- Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to relevant departments.
- Collect and deliver medical specimens as needed.
- Assist with offloading patients from ambulances and private cars to stretchers.
- Clean stretchers and wheelchairs after each use to maintain hygiene standards.
- Report any faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor immediately.
- Render mortuary services, including receiving and properly storing corpses.
- Maintain accurate records of corpses received and released.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of customer care principles.
