What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the hospital, ensuring safe and effective medication use.
- Manage the procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals, including cold chain management.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and clinical governance standards.
- Assist in corporate governance functions, including budgetary control and human resource management.
- Implement and manage Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration as a pharmacist.
- Registration with the SAPC as a pharmacist.
- Relevant experience as specified for the Grade level (Grade 1: None or 1 year for foreign qualified; Grade 2: Minimum 5 years; Grade 3: Minimum 13 years).
- Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
- Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Knowledge of National and Provincial Health Policies, Medicines Act, and Pharmacy Act.
