What You’ll Do

  • Manage and control the distribution of medicines for inpatients, outpatients, and clinics.
  • Monitor and evaluate the provision of quality pharmaceutical services, including the Chronic Dispensing Unit.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and statistics, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy staff, delegating tasks and empowering team members.
  • Provide comprehensive counselling to patients to ensure optimal use of their medications.
  • Maintain high standards of stock management, ensuring accountability to the Public Finance Management Act and allocated budgets.
  • Stay informed about public health, safe medicine use, and relevant pharmacy practices.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • Appropriate qualification and registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with SAPC; foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) if shortlisted.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy information and relevant government legislation and health policies.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and management skills.
  • Strong understanding of the district health system.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
