About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to join its Head Office in Polokwane. What You’ll Do
- Receive and manage telephone calls, making decisions on forwarding them as necessary.
- Finalize inquiries and provide relevant information to stakeholders.
- Perform advanced typing and ensure office equipment is functioning properly.
- Coordinate and advise the HoD on engagements and appointments.
- Maintain organized records of the HoD’s engagements and documents.
- Compile reports and assist in scrutinizing submissions for the HoD.
- Respond to enquiries from various stakeholders and draft necessary documents.
- Manage travel arrangements and oversee the leave register for the unit.
- Handle procurement of supplies and maintain budget records.
- Prepare briefing notes and coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF Level 6 qualification in Personal Assistant, Secretarial, or related fields.
- At least two years of experience in supporting executive management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A valid driver’s license, with exceptions made for persons with disabilities.
- A solid understanding of public service legislation and financial administration.
