The Parliamentary and Cabinet Support role is a vital position within the South African government, based in Pretoria, Hatfield. What You’ll Do
- Monitor parliamentary events and legislative structures to identify issues relevant to the Minister’s portfolio.
- Liaise with portfolio and standing committees to ensure effective communication and representation of the Minister’s interests.
- Prepare and compile various documents including cabinet memoranda, speeches, and briefing notes as required.
- Facilitate timely responses to parliamentary questions and ensure departmental representation at parliamentary events.
- Coordinate the movement of official documents and equipment between Pretoria and Cape Town during parliamentary sessions.
- Stay updated on public service policies and procedures to support the Minister effectively.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate NQF level 6 / 7 qualification in Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of five years’ experience, with at least three years at an Assistant Director level or equivalent in an Office Administration environment.
- Broad knowledge of the executive authority’s portfolio and understanding of political and parliamentary processes in South Africa.
- Strong management competencies, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in computer literacy.
