What You’ll Do

  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of specialized nursing care in the Psychiatry complex.
  • Ensure maintenance of quality care standards in the Psychiatry services.
  • Supervise and guide nursing staff, maintaining accurate records and statistics.
  • Effectively manage assets, consumables, and services within the unit.
  • Support education and in-service training initiatives for nursing staff.
  • Maintain professional growth and uphold ethical standards in nursing practice.
  • Provide after-hours management support to nursing services and hospital management when required.

What You’ll Need

  • A Basic R425 qualification or equivalent that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in nursing, including 5 years post-basic qualification experience in mental health.
  • Valid code (B/EB) driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, nights, and standby duties.
  • Strong understanding of HR and financial policies related to nursing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
