What You’ll Do

  • Provide holistic nursing care within the Labour Ward, ensuring compliance with professional and legal standards.
  • Supervise and effectively utilize nursing resources, including human, material, and financial assets.
  • Support the development of nursing practice through education and research initiatives.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with nursing personnel and other stakeholders to promote teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and policies relevant to nursing practice within the public service.
  • Manage disciplinary and conflict resolution processes as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science or a 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
  • Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in nursing, with at least 5 years in a relevant specialty after obtaining a post-basic qualification.
  • Excellent managerial and decision-making skills, along with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and conflict management skills.
