What You’ll Do

  • Plan, organize, and manage nursing services in the general ward.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with nursing staff and stakeholders.
  • Implement nursing guidelines, practices, and standards.
  • Manage human, financial, and physical resources effectively.
  • Supervise nursing services after hours and on weekends.
  • Ensure compliance with Norms and Standards and the Ideal Hospital Framework.
  • Develop and implement Quality Improvement Plans.
  • Oversee staff performance and development.
  • Address discipline and grievance matters in accordance with policies.
  • Manage unit data and submit reports to the facility information office.
  • Implement Infection Prevention and Control protocols within the unit.
  • Uphold patient rights and the Batho Pele principles.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12 and a nursing qualification recognized by the South African Nursing Council.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience as a registered Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing Administration and Management (advantageous).
  • Basic computer literacy and strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to work shifts and standby as required.
