What You’ll Do

  • Conduct assessments and treatment plans for community mental health patients.
  • Develop and implement Occupational Therapy programs in line with healthcare policies.
  • Coordinate services to ensure comprehensive care within the district.
  • Contribute to mental health awareness campaigns and prevention strategies.
  • Manage administrative tasks and maintain compliance with relevant policies.
  • Create objectives and action plans for your area of work.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist.
  • For Grade 1: No experience is required post-registration; for Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience; for Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience.
  • Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and report writing.
  • Knowledge of relevant health policies, protocols, and mental health legislation.
  • Strong analytical, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
