What You’ll Do

• Implement and monitor all safety processes to promote a safe working environment.
• Participate in internal risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Conduct Occupational Health and Safety inspections across various educational facilities.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
• Perform internal audits in accordance with organizational procedures and legislation.
• Maintain the SHE RISK system for effective safety management.
• Prepare for and respond to emergencies, ensuring readiness at all times.
• Manage contractor safety effectively to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate and participate in SHE-related meetings and safety campaigns.
• Gather and analyze data for SHE reports and statistics to drive improvements.

What You’ll Need

• NQF Level 6 qualification in Safety Management or Environmental Health Management recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Additional qualifications in Safety Management or Environmental Health Management are advantageous.
• Training in Safety Management Training Course (SAMTRAC) and Environmental Health Awareness is preferred.
• Registration with the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (SAIOSH) is required.
• Valid driver’s license, except for individuals with disabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, including COIDA and OHSA.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with functional computer literacy in MS Office.
