What You’ll Do

  • Provide basic nursing care to patients, particularly in maternity and neonatal units
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and elimination needs
  • Maintain effective record-keeping practices to support patient care
  • Uphold professional growth and ethical standards while striving for self-development
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Be willing to rotate across various wards and work shifts, including nights and weekends

What You’ll Need

  • A qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant
  • Registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant
  • For Grade 2, a minimum of 10 years’ experience in nursing after registration
  • For Grade 3, a minimum of 20 years’ experience in nursing after registration
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Medicines Control Act and Nursing Act
