What You’ll Do
- Receive and record corpses upon arrival at the mortuary
- Register corpses and manage transportation to and from hospitals
- Ensure accurate name tag identification corresponding with records
- Maintain proper storage of corpses, monitoring fridge temperatures daily
- Complete TPH Registers and conduct audits of corpses’ length of stay
- Assist in identifying and preparing corpses for viewing and post-mortem
- Prepare bodies for pauper’s burial and manage the release process for families
- Report any maintenance needs for mortuary equipment and ensure cleanliness
What You’ll Need
- ABET (Grade 1-9) qualification
- No prior working experience required
- Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles and Public Service Act
- Understanding of customer care and the Code of Conduct
- Familiarity with medico-legal policies and patients’ rights
