What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
• Perform and supervise major and minor surgical procedures, including caesarean sections and assisted deliveries.
• Manage high-risk obstetric patients and lead outpatient clinics, ensuring evidence-based assessments and care continuity.
• Conduct and interpret obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound examinations.
• Provide clinical supervision and training to junior medical staff in ultrasound practices.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records, adhering to legal and departmental standards.
• Participate in teaching, mentoring, and professional development initiatives for medical personnel.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and the development of clinical guidelines.
• Engage in outreach services to district hospitals, enhancing healthcare delivery and capacity building.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification enabling registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
• Experience:
• Grade 1: None required post-registration.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ experience post-registration.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ experience post-registration.
• A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and willingness to travel.
• Proven skills in performing obstetric and gynaecological ultrasounds.
• Excellent clinical, research, and educational skills.
• Ability to maintain good interpersonal relations with patients and staff.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Computer literacy, particularly in MS Word and Excel.
