What You’ll Do
- Provide clinical patient and family care to those referred to Palliative Care.
- Advocate for appropriate palliative care services throughout Groote Schuur Hospital.
- Engage and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders to support palliative care development.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings dedicated to palliative care across the hospital.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the palliative care service.
- Deliver in-service training to staff on palliative care best practices.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective care for referred patients.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification allowing registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Relevant experience as a Medical Practitioner (requirements vary by grade).
- A valid driver’s licence (code B/EB).
- Post Graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Palliative Medicine.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
