About the Role
The Department of Social Development is seeking a passionate and experienced Manager: Community Development Policy: NPO Capacity to join their dynamic team at the Head Office. What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement annual capacity building plans aligned with community development priorities.
- Conduct training needs assessments within communities and NPOs through stakeholder consultations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Facilitate internal training sessions on community development policies and NPO regulations.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to NPOs to enhance service delivery.
- Evaluate training outcomes and refine methodologies to improve training effectiveness.
- Assist NPOs with registration processes and compliance with the Nonprofit Organizations Act, 1997.
- Conduct awareness campaigns to educate organizations about regulatory requirements.
- Engage community stakeholders and NPOs in special programs and initiatives.
- Monitor the impact and progress of special programs within communities.
- Ensure adherence to departmental policies and regulatory frameworks.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification at NQF 6 or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Community Development.
- Valid driver’s licence (with exceptions for individuals with disabilities).
- Extensive knowledge of community development theories, practices, and relevant legislation.
- Strong skills in stakeholder coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.
- Proven experience in project management and policy formulation.
