What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute business plans aligned with the department’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate community development activities to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Monitor the performance and activities of service providers to maintain high standards.
  • Promote inter-sectoral collaboration for integrated service provision.
  • Formulate and oversee the budget for community development initiatives.
  • Design and implement integrated development programs focused on community empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
  • Manage physical, financial, and human resources effectively to achieve departmental goals.

What You’ll Need

  • A qualification at NQF 6 or equivalent in Development Studies, Community Development, Social Sciences, or related fields, as recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in community development following your qualification.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
  • Extensive knowledge of community development theories, systems, and practices.
  • Skills in project management, financial management, and policy formulation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, along with strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Competence in managing community structures and influencing self-empowerment initiatives.
