What You’ll Do
- Conduct quality assurance of driver/operator systems to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Operate specialized plant and equipment for various transportation tasks
- Carry out daily roadworthy inspections on vehicles
- Ensure timely servicing of vehicles and equipment
- Analyze logistics operations to optimize efficiency
- Transport work teams and materials/equipment as required
- Collect goods from suppliers and department stores
- Maintain accurate records of daily trips, fuel, and fluid levels
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Assist with maintenance and construction work at gauging stations
What You’ll Need
- An NQF level 4 qualification
- A valid Code EC/EC1 (or equivalent) unexpired driver’s license with a valid PDP
- Certified competency/operating certificate for relevant heavy plant/machinery
- At least five years’ experience in driving heavy motor vehicles and operating heavy equipment
- Knowledge of traffic and road safety regulations
- Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy vehicles and machinery
- Familiarity with OHS requirements and government regulations
- Strong record-keeping and reporting skills
