About the Role
The Department of Public Service and Administration is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Management Officer: Risk and SCM to join its team in Bisho, Eastern Cape. What You’ll Do
- Conduct compliance checks on supply chain management legislation.
- Evaluate bid processes to ensure adherence to regulatory policies.
- Assist in tender briefings and provide necessary guidance.
- Receive and acknowledge complaints regarding terms of reference.
- Manage supply chain risk and advise on internal controls.
- Investigate the legitimacy of service providers and assist in evaluating their capabilities.
- Supervise allocated resources and maintain high standards of work quality.
- Resolve motivational issues within the team with minimal guidance.
- Delegate functions to staff while providing necessary support and training.
- Develop and implement job descriptions and personal development plans for employees.
- Ensure the management and safekeeping of assets, including addressing cases of loss.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate or a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Supply Chain Management, Public Management, Public Administration, Logistics, Cost and Management Accounting, or Internal Auditing.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of Treasury regulations, PFMA, compliance policies, and SCM policies.
- Understanding of the Public Service Act and related regulations.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, along with creative thinking abilities.
- Excellent problem analysis and self-management capabilities.
