What You’ll Do

  • Provide laundry services by handling hospital linens and contributing to cleanliness standards.
  • Collect and return linen from designated depots, keeping accurate records of transactions.
  • Prepare and disinfect linens for washing, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Operate laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and irons, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good condition.
  • Inspect, mend, and mark laundry to keep items in proper order.
  • Sort, count, and record dirty linen, while also ensuring timely delivery of cleaned items to clients.
  • Report any machine faults or maintenance needs to your supervisor.
  • Assist with other laundry-related duties as assigned by management.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) with no prior experience required.
  • A basic understanding of laundry operations and health standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in shifts, including night shifts.
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the role.
  • A reliable and honest work ethic, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
