What You’ll Do

  • Render laundry services while maintaining a safe and clean working environment
  • Collect linen from relevant depots and keep accurate records of linen collected and returned
  • Prepare and disinfect linen according to established guidelines
  • Operate various laundry machines including washers, dryers, and ironers
  • Sort, count, and record dirty linen, and pack laundered items
  • Inspect, mend, and mark laundry to ensure it remains in good condition
  • Report any machine defaults to the supervisor and maintain equipment
  • Rotate areas within the laundry and perform all tasks as directed by the supervisor

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent)
  • Understanding of laundry operations and procedures
  • Good communication skills and ability to work shifts, including night shifts
  • Physical strength to cope with the demands of the position
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently
  • Honesty and reliability in all duties performed
