What You’ll Do

  • Render laundry services, ensuring all items are cleaned and disinfected according to health standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in line with health and safety protocols.
  • Collect and return linen from designated depots, keeping accurate records of all transactions.
  • Prepare and operate various laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and ironing equipment.
  • Inspect, mend, and label laundry items to ensure they remain in good condition.
  • Iron, fold, and pack laundered items, sealing them in appropriate linen bags for delivery.
  • Report any machine malfunctions to the supervisor and monitor equipment status regularly.
  • Assist in maintaining laundry equipment and request servicing as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF level 1 or 2 (or equivalent ABET level 2 certificate).
  • Understanding of laundry operations and hygiene practices.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts, and rotate tasks within the laundry.
  • Physical strength to handle the demands of the position.
  • Honest and reliable character with a strong work ethic.
