What You’ll Do

• Render efficient laundry services, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Collect linen from designated depots and accurately record the items collected and returned.
• Prepare and disinfect linen according to established guidelines before washing.
• Operate various laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and irons.
• Inspect, mend, and mark laundry items to maintain their quality and usability.
• Sort, count, and record dirty linen, ensuring proper organization.
• Deliver laundered items to clients and seal linen bags securely.
• Report any machine malfunctions or defects to your supervisor.
• Maintain laundry equipment, monitoring temperature and requesting servicing when necessary.

What You’ll Need

• NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) is required.
• Basic understanding of laundry operations and hygiene practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in shifts, including night shifts.
• Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the role.
• Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
• A reliable and honest character, essential for maintaining trust in the role.
