What You’ll Do
- Render efficient laundry services, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Collect linen from designated depots and accurately record the items collected and returned.
- Prepare and disinfect linen according to established guidelines before washing.
- Operate various laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and irons.
- Inspect, mend, and mark laundry items to maintain their quality and usability.
- Sort, count, and record dirty linen, ensuring proper organization.
- Deliver laundered items to clients and seal linen bags securely.
- Report any machine malfunctions or defects to your supervisor.
- Maintain laundry equipment, monitoring temperature and requesting servicing when necessary.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) is required.
- Basic understanding of laundry operations and hygiene practices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in shifts, including night shifts.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the role.
- Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
- A reliable and honest character, essential for maintaining trust in the role.
