What You’ll Do

  • Render laundry services in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Collect and transport linen from designated depots
  • Maintain accurate records of linen collected and returned
  • Prepare and disinfect linen for washing, following established procedures
  • Operate laundry machines including washers, dryers, and irons
  • Inspect, mend, and mark linen to ensure quality maintenance
  • Iron, fold, and pack laundered items, sealing them in linen bags
  • Sort, count, and record dirty linen
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of laundry equipment

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent)
  • An understanding of laundry operations and processes
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including nights
  • Physical strength to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Reliability and honesty in handling duties
