What You’ll Do
- Render comprehensive laundry services in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Collect and accurately record linen from designated depots.
- Prepare and disinfect linen for washing according to established procedures.
- Operate various laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and pressers.
- Inspect, mend, and mark laundry to keep items in good condition.
- Iron, fold, count, and pack laundered items for delivery.
- Sort, count, and record dirty linen efficiently.
- Report any machine malfunctions and ensure equipment maintenance.
- Support supervisors with various laundry responsibilities as directed.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent).
- No prior experience required, but an understanding of laundry operations is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including night shifts.
- Physical strength to handle the demands of the position.
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
- A reliable and honest approach to work, demonstrating integrity at all times.
