What You’ll Do
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Collect and accurately record linen from designated depots.
- Prepare and disinfect linen for washing and ensure proper handling of washed items.
- Inspect, mend, and mark laundry to keep it in optimal condition.
- Operate various laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and ironing equipment.
- Iron, fold, and pack laundered items, sealing linen bags for delivery.
- Sort, count, and record dirty linen, ensuring efficient processing.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to your supervisor and maintain laundry machines.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent).
- Understanding of laundry operations and procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including nights.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job.
- Willingness to work as part of a team or independently.
- Honesty and reliability in all tasks performed.
