What You’ll Do
- Render laundry services in accordance with health and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Collect and keep accurate records of linen from various depots
- Prepare and disinfect linen for washing, following established procedures
- Keep linen in good condition through inspection, mending, and marking
- Operate laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and irons
- Iron, fold, count, and pack laundered items, sealing linen bags as required
- Sort, count, and record dirty linen accurately
- Collect and deliver linen to clients efficiently
- Report any machine defaults to the supervisor
- Monitor and maintain laundry equipment, including temperature checks and reporting defects
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent)
- Understanding of a laundry setup and operations
- Good communication skills and ability to work shifts, including nights
- Physical strength to manage the demands of the position
- Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently
- Honesty and reliability are essential attributes
