What You’ll Do

  • Render laundry services by maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collect linen from various depots and keep accurate records of the linen collected and returned.
  • Prepare and disinfect linen for washing according to established procedures.
  • Operate laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and ironing equipment.
  • Iron, fold, count, and pack laundered items, ensuring they are sealed in linen bags.
  • Sort, count, and record dirty linen while delivering cleaned linen to clients.
  • Conduct regular inspections, mending, and marking of laundry to keep it in good condition.
  • Report any faults or defects in laundry equipment to the supervisor.
  • Maintain laundry equipment and monitor temperature to ensure proper functioning.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent).
  • No prior experience required but an understanding of laundry operations is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including night shifts.
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of the position.
  • Honesty and reliability as a team player or independently.
