What You’ll Do
- Render laundry services while adhering to health and safety standards
- Collect and return linen from designated areas within the hospital
- Maintain accurate records of linen collected and delivered
- Prepare and disinfect linen according to established guidelines
- Operate various laundry machines, including washers and dryers
- Inspect, mend, and mark laundry items to keep them in good condition
- Iron, fold, count, and pack laundered items efficiently
- Sort and record dirty linen accurately
- Report any machine faults and maintain laundry equipment
- Follow all laundry responsibilities as directed by the supervisor
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent ABET Level 2 certificate)
- Understanding of laundry operations and equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to work shifts, including night shifts
- Physical strength to handle the demands of the position
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently
- Honesty and reliability in all tasks
