What You’ll Do
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Collect and deliver linen from various depots to designated units
- Keep accurate records of the linen collected and returned
- Prepare and disinfect linen for washing following established procedures
- Operate laundry machines, including washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment
- Inspect, mend, and mark linen to keep it in good condition
- Sort, count, and record dirty linen for processing
- Iron, fold, pack, and seal laundered items for delivery
- Report any machine faults to the supervisor
- Assist in maintaining laundry equipment and monitoring temperatures
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent)
- Understanding of laundry operations and procedures
- Good communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including night shifts
- Physical strength and endurance to meet the demands of the role
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Honesty and reliability
