What You’ll Do

  • Support the implementation of risk management, assessment, and reporting processes across the department.
  • Facilitate the identification and management of risks, ensuring results are accurately recorded.
  • Coordinate the development of risk mitigating strategies with risk owners and sponsors.
  • Maintain and update the overall risk registers within the department.
  • Manage the risk management and compliance software to ensure optimal operation.
  • Conduct research on best practices and refine risk modelling methodologies.
  • Enhance staff understanding of Enterprise Risk Management and compliance processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to promote effective risk governance.
  • Implement policies and regulations related to risk and compliance management.
  • Oversee the efficient management of human, physical, and financial resources within the unit.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification in Risk Management, Financial Management, Accounting, or Internal Audit at NQF level 6 recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory or junior management experience.
  • Proven experience in a risk management environment.
  • Knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and relevant public service legislation.
  • Understanding of the Public Finance Management Act and National Treasury Regulations.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with online systems.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work extended hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
