What You’ll Do
- Conduct underground, shaft, and surface audits to assess occupational hygiene exposures.
- Investigate and report on mine-related accidents, contraventions, and complaints.
- Analyze trends in mining accidents to identify high-risk operations and recommend actions.
- Serve on boards of examiners as needed.
- Consult on mine closure, prospecting, and mining rights, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Contribute to regional reports and assist in revising mining regulations and guidelines.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma in Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Health (NQF6).
- Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Hygiene.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act Regulations and legal hazard identification.
- Strong skills in planning, organizing, report writing, and interpersonal relations.
- Ability to recommend occupational solutions and negotiate effectively.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications and languages.
- Innovative thinking and analytical skills to assess situations fairly.
