About the Opportunity

The Electoral Commission of South Africa invites passionate graduates to immerse themselves in an enriching experience within a Chapter 9 constitutional institution. This internship offers a unique chance to support democratic processes, engage in civic education, and enhance stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will be actively involved in:
– Performing general administrative duties for Civic Education and Research
– Supporting the Outreach Management System (OMS)
– Assisting with stakeholder management and coordination
– Compiling and distributing documents to stakeholders
– Preparing reports, presentations, and taking minutes
– Maintaining filing systems and correspondence
– Coordinating outreach and research activities
– Supporting logistics and general office functions

Requirements/Qualifications

Candidates must:
– Have Matric / Grade 12 / N3 / NTC Level 4
– Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Public Administration or Political Sciences
– Have previous work experience in their field of study
– Have participated in an internship programme before

Required Skills and Competencies

– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office
– Ability to learn new systems and software
– Good time management and organisational skills
– Ability to work independently and in a team
– Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
