What You’ll Do

  • Ensure cleanliness and tidiness in designated areas of the hospital.

  • Perform cleaning tasks such as washing, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and sweeping.
  • Clean kitchen utensils and ensure they are properly stored.
  • Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
  • Safeguard cleaning equipment and maintain its condition.
  • Implement security measures by locking doors and closing windows.
  • Monitor and report hazards related to fire and electricity.
  • Carry out simple maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Assess hygiene situations and ensure compliance with infection control regulations.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Physical strength to meet the demands of the role.
  • A reliable and honest work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
