About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking dedicated Health Promotion Practitioners to join their team at the Sead Clinic and Winfred Maboa Community Health Centre in the Gert Sibande District. This role is crucial for enhancing public health initiatives within the community and ensuring that residents are informed and engaged in their health. Working directly with community members, the Health Promotion Practitioner will develop and execute educational campaigns, encourage participation in health initiatives, and foster relationships across various sectors. What You’ll Do
- Implement health promotion programmes and strategies at both facility and community levels.
- Plan and execute information, education, and communication activities aimed at raising health awareness.
- Promote community engagement and participation in health initiatives across various sectors.
- Establish community components for integrated management of childhood illnesses and healthy lifestyle interventions.
- Participate in local forums to build collaborative relationships and identify health advocacy opportunities.
- Distribute informational materials and resources throughout the sub-district.
- Support health sector initiatives, including those from local authorities, schools, and workplaces.
- Compile and submit reports on health promotion activities and outcomes.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A recognized National Diploma in Health Promotion or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in health promotion.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- A valid driver’s license.
