What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the development of health and safety policies and guidelines in line with the Health & Safety Act.
  • Compile and manage emergency evacuation policies and operational plans related to occupational health and safety.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on health and safety matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Organize and conduct health and safety training sessions for staff and students.
  • Carry out induction training on health and safety protocols for new employees and learners.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety across all college sites through active engagement and communication.
  • Conduct regular occupational health and safety risk assessments through site inspections.
  • Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to support compliance with DHET and college policies.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Level 4 Certificate.
  • An appropriate National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an occupational health and safety environment.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of the CET Act, COIDA, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, along with applicable legislation.
  • Familiarity with OHSAS 18001 Management system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, research, analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
