What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and cook meals following established menus and special dietary requirements.
  • Serve food in appropriate crockery and ensure correct portion sizes based on dietary allowances.
  • Pack and deliver food trolleys to designated areas within the hospital.
  • Maintain cleanliness by collecting used cutlery and crockery from service areas.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure that hygiene and safety standards are met.
  • Report any unsafe or unhygienic conditions to your supervisor.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of food services and food preparation techniques.
  • Understanding of health and safety measures in food service environments.
  • Basic literacy skills and ability to operate food processing equipment.
  • Capability to measure ingredients accurately.
