What You’ll Do
- Prepare and cook ingredients for meals following established menus and special diet plans
- Serve meals in appropriate crockery while ensuring portion sizes meet dietary guidelines
- Pack and deliver food trolleys to various areas within the hospital
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and food processing environment
- Collect and wash used cutlery and crockery, ensuring all equipment is sanitized
- Perform regular safety checks to uphold sanitation standards
- Report any unhygienic or unsafe conditions to your supervisor
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent)
- Basic knowledge of food services and food preparation techniques
- Understanding of health and safety measures in a food environment
- Ability to operate food processing equipment safely
- Basic literacy skills and the ability to measure ingredients accurately
