What You’ll Do
- Follow menus and special diet plans to prepare meals.
- Clean and cut vegetables, and prepare meat, poultry, and fish.
- Cook and process ingredients to ensure quality meals.
- Serve food in the appropriate crockery and ensure correct portion sizes.
- Pack food delivery trolleys and ensure timely delivery to designated areas.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment by collecting used cutlery and crockery.
- Wash and dry used equipment, ensuring proper sanitation.
- Perform regular quality checks on cleaning processes and report any issues to supervisors.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) with no prior experience required.
- Knowledge of food services and preparation methods.
- Familiarity with operating food processing equipment.
- Understanding of basic health and safety measures.
- Basic literacy skills and the ability to measure ingredients accurately.
