What You’ll Do

• Assist in the protection of the Nzhelele Nature Reserve and its natural resources.
• Conduct law enforcement operations related to nature conservation, including patrols.
• Inspect and repair boundary fences to maintain reserve integrity.
• Manage visitor behaviour to ensure safety and compliance within the reserve.
• Report non-compliance and assist with fire management services.
• Aid in ecological monitoring and gather biological and ecological data.
• Identify and implement ecological rehabilitation programmes.
• Support wildlife management initiatives and conservation management programmes.
• Participate in game monitoring and management activities.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 qualification or equivalent recognised by SAQA.
• A valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate for handguns, rifles, or shotguns.
• A valid driver’s license, with exceptions for persons with disabilities.
• Physical fitness to perform the duties of the role effectively.
• No prior criminal record.
• Experience in conservation management programmes is advantageous.
• A conservation training certificate or qualification from an accredited institution is essential.
• Strong knowledge of nature reserve management and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client orientation skills.
