What You’ll Do

  • Render technical services aligned with your qualifications.
  • Assist engineers, technologists, and associates in fieldwork.
  • Provide inputs to the technical and engineering operational plan.
  • Promote safety in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate existing technical manuals and incorporate new technology into designs.
  • Compile and submit reports as required.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain system databases.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding engineering-related matters.
  • Conduct condition assessments of surfaced and gravel roads as needed.
  • Travel to various sites and work away from home as required.

What You’ll Need

  • A 3-year National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a relevant qualification.
  • Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as an Engineering Technician.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification technical experience in civil engineering.
  • A valid driving license (Code B or higher).
  • Knowledge of geotechnical and pavement design of roads.
  • Ability to solve technological challenges with proven techniques.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and good computer literacy.
