What You’ll Do
- Develop, interpret, and customize functional and technical norms and standards for mechanical engineering projects.
- Investigate proposals and conduct feasibility studies for innovative service delivery mechanisms.
- Compile comprehensive briefing documentation and specifications for projects.
- Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of mechanical engineering installations, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Conduct research to stay updated on new technologies and methodologies relevant to mechanical engineering.
- Collaborate with professional councils and boards to ensure compliance and best practices in engineering solutions.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BScEng).
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for Grade A, 14 years for Grade B, and 26 years for Grade C after registration.
- A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Western Cape and nationally.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience in designing building services engineering systems for healthcare facilities.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with experience in report preparation and presentations.
- Knowledge of risk analysis, fire regulations, and vertical transportation systems is advantageous.
