What You’ll Do
- Schedule and plan transport routes for the movement of goods, services, and personnel.
- Ensure accurate completion of logbooks and maintain records diligently.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance and inspections, reporting any defects promptly.
- Adhere strictly to departmental codes and procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
- Assist the Transport Officer with basic administrative tasks and general duties.
- Support workshop staff with the loading and off-loading of equipment.
- Operate the fixed crane on the truck safely as required.
What You’ll Need
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Relevant experience as a driver with a strong safety record.
- Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) and a code C1 (Code 10) manual driver’s licence.
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts, sleepouts, and standby duties, including weekends and public holidays.
- Knowledge of Transport Circular U2 of 2000 and a good understanding of road networks in the Western Province.
- Strong accountability and the ability to work independently and safely.
- Good interpersonal skills and sober habits, with the capacity to thrive in a workshop environment.
