About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is currently seeking a dedicated Driver for the Provisioning and Logistics team, based at the Cape Town Regional Office. What You’ll Do
- Perform general messenger and delivery services to ensure timely communication.
- Sort and arrange correspondences within the registry for efficient handling.
- Collect submissions and other crucial documents from designated offices.
- Drive light and medium vehicles to transport passengers and materials.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on allocated vehicles to ensure safety.
- Deliver mail, files, documents, and parcels to the appropriate recipients.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and addresses.
- Assist with general office tasks such as copying, faxing, and shredding documents.
- Support registry-related activities and contribute to auxiliary administrative tasks.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 10 qualification or equivalent as recognized by SAQA.
- A valid driver’s license along with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Knowledge of motor vehicle operation and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with messenger functions and routine office support tasks.
- Understanding of the city district where the role is performed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
