What You’ll Do

  • Implement and support IT infrastructure and hardware systems within the district.
  • Install and maintain Telkom data lines, routers, switches, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
  • Ensure the effective installation and support of servers.
  • Enroll officials in the BACM system and provide them with smart cards.
  • Offer technical support for online verification scanners and fingerprint scanners.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset registers across local offices.
  • Facilitate the disposal process of obsolete IT assets and provide technical reports.
  • Coordinate IT requirements for individual offices with Head Office.
  • Identify and resolve issues disrupting business operations and network performance.
  • Manage human, physical, and financial resources effectively within the unit.
  • Coach and guide staff on compliance and best practices.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields at NQF level 6.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Information Technology environment.
  • Experience in desktop, network, server, and application support.
  • Knowledge of GITO Guidelines, Minimum Information Security Standards, and related legislation.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to work extended hours.
  • Strong skills in service delivery innovation, client orientation, and people management.
