What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate and coordinate operational and strategic planning processes.
  • Compile strategic and operational plans to guide departmental initiatives.
  • Set research agendas and provide policy support for development processes.
  • Oversee knowledge management and learning initiatives within the department.
  • Develop and implement service delivery improvement plans and initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of priority programmes and projects effectively.
  • Conduct assessments of institutional performance and policy implementation.
  • Compile institutional performance and strategic reports for accountability.
  • Design and implement change management initiatives within the department.
  • Facilitate customer relations and frontline improvement services.
  • Manage communication and public liaison activities, including events.
  • Provide comprehensive support services, including infrastructure and operations.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Management, or related fields (NQF level 7).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience at a middle or senior managerial level.
  • Completion of the Senior Management Pre-entry Programme as endorsed by the National School of Government.
  • Knowledge of data collection processes, data analysis, and information management.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and maintain a customer service orientation.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation governing the public service.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning frameworks and performance management.
  • Skills in stakeholder management, negotiation, and strategic thinking.
