About the Role
The Department of Social Development is seeking a dedicated Director: Non-Institutionalised HIV/AIDS and Social Relief to join its Head Office in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Ensure programmes align with national priorities and policies for effective implementation.
- Monitor the execution of strategic plans and report on progress regularly.
- Set performance standards and benchmarks to measure the success of social relief initiatives.
- Oversee the development of operational plans, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Promote integrated service delivery that aligns with the department’s strategic objectives.
- Advocate for ethical social work practices and professional standards within the team.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance service delivery and programme effectiveness.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor of Social Work at NQF level 7, recognised by SAQA.
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- A minimum of five years of proven experience at a Middle/Senior Managerial level.
- Completion of the SMS pre-entry programme prior to appointment.
- A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
- Strong competencies in strategic leadership, programme management, and change management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and proficiency in computer literacy.
- A deep understanding of social welfare services, particularly in areas related to HIV/AIDS and services for vulnerable populations.
