What You’ll Do

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the office of the HoD, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage the workflow and coordinate activities within the HoD’s office to enhance efficiency.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with departmental staff and external stakeholders to support collaborative efforts.
  • Oversee the formulation and management of executive and senior management forums.
  • Coordinate social cluster activities and ensure effective follow-up on EXCO decisions and resolutions.
  • Consolidate reports and manage the department’s budget in line with its strategic objectives.
  • Ensure human resources are utilized effectively in accordance with relevant legislation and directives.

What You’ll Need

  • A recognized qualification at NQF 7 level as per SAQA standards.
  • At least five years of proven experience in middle to senior management roles.
  • Completion of the SMS pre-entry programme prior to appointment.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (exemptions apply for persons with disabilities).
  • Strong capabilities in strategic leadership, financial management, and people management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills.
  • Understanding of the public service legislative framework and change management practices.
